I’d like you to get to know my approach to creating and collaborating better.

While discovering, designing and developing, I’m in constant exchange with all kinds of people. Working together should be fun! So I keep on developing and enhancing the perfect recipe for collaboration. Regardless of the circumstances, the following three ingredients are constant in my work process.

My ambition is to find the right balance in life, work, body & brain. It’s a fascinating process that is sometimes easy peasy and sometimes hard as f***. Balance as a design principle should feel like an aesthetic harmony. Nowadays it’s easy to communicate online, but let’s keep it personal. Finding the right balance between one-on-one meetings and online contact is key! Listening to expectations, understanding needs and solving challenges need this human touch.

I aim to always have an open and honest conversation with everyone I’m working with. Openness is for me also about flexibility: being curious to new ideas and different opinions. To be prepared to take risks and learn from your failures. In design practice openness means exploration and research, to widen your perspective on things as much as you can. On the other hand it’s is all about giving elements enough (white) space to shine. That of course also applies to people, give them enough room to reach their true potential.

O

Open•ness

[ Noun; /ˈəʊ.pən.nəs/ ]
1. the right amount of white space ; 2. an honest way of talking or behaving in which you do not try to hide anything; 3. a tendency to accept new ideas, methods, or changes ; 4. simplicity

I strive for authenticity both in my creation and in my communication. I like the idea of authentic design as a balance between reality and originality, with a strong idea at the root of it. I want to create authentic brands with a unique voice to communicate their true beliefs. It’s my nature to be committed, passionate and open. Transparency also supports a more effective collaboration and therefore makes the process more fun and engaging. I don’t do one-size-fits-all, I don’t do “good-enough” and I never stop growing. My advice: be brave, be genuine & be humble.
